Day 7 Wednesday

It's the day we were not looking forward to as we had to negotiate our way around motorways and built up areas passing Warrington, Bolton, Blackburn, etc. As it turned out there was a lot of busy urban cycling but it wasn't too bad at all! Route finding was the main challenge and just as we were past the worst, disaster struck with a broken chain on Alec's bike! Fortunately we can call on a one person organisation that puts the RAC to shame! Cue "RV Rescue" and we were soon backon the road with the spare bike. Fortunately, there was also a handy chain disposal facility nearby, so no harm done. We plan to get a new chain when we reach the Lakes tomorrow. We are still going well and are on schedule - with another 65 miles under our belts. Back to the hills tomorrow...
