Day 14 Wednesday

Another 71 miles bites the dust! Fantastic scenery today and fast cycling. A couple of bad but short hill climbs otherwise all ok. Now at Fort Augustus and we've been joined by Neil for the final three days. Big hill start tomorrow....

  1. Good luck for the final two days! Debs and I take to the road tomorrow morning but by car off course. The office will be deserted here - hope there are not too many emergencies!! See you Saturday. C x

  2. Hear you've had a change of plan for tonight - all the more questions for tomorrow then!
I'm still following the script so here's a few more
    1. Where can you buy a tweed baseball hat in Lairg?
    2. What colour are the Altnaharra Hotel's petrol pumps?
    3. What is unusual about the church in Syre?
    4. Find the bullet hole on the bridge over the Naver at Bettyhill and ask Donald for the story.
    5. Find someone in Bettyhill who went to school with Donald

The main quest tho for which ever day you reach Bettyhill is botanical. The area is rich in relic landscape and here you can find at low level plants which are normally Alpine.
Look out for the Sedumacre, Baltic Rush, moonwart, purple oxytropis, gentians, yellow mountain saxifrage,
mountain aven, creeping willow, dwarf juniper, to name just a few.
However the creme de la creme is primula scotica.
You are all very privileged to be in botanist heaven at this time of year! Hope you appreciate it.
Hey Susan, what about Ronaldo - £80million!
